PSYCHIATRIC ASSESSMENTS

During your initial appointment at Metro Atlanta Psychiatry, we conduct a series of psychological tests and evaluate any underlying biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to your condition. To this end, your doctor may ask you to do bloodwork or get an EKG, so for your convenience, we offer a suite of on-site ancillary services so that you can get these done right after your visit.

Session Fee: $200 (additional $100 lab fee may apply)

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Psychiatric Medication Management (PMM) encompasses a comprehensive approach that not only involves the prescription of appropriate medications but also includes ongoing monitoring and evaluation of their effectiveness. At Metro Atlanta Psychiatry, our dedicated team of psychiatrists are committed to tailoring treatments to address the unique needs of each individual. Our goal is to alleviate distressing symptoms, minimize side effects, and enhance the overall quality of life for patients.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

The key to getting better may lie in how you think and what you do. For example, someone with major depressive disorder (MDD) might misinterpret the things that other people say and do in an overly negative way that causes him or her to feel worse and isolate from others to such an extent that it harms relationships and interferes with day-to-day functioning. Medication and therapy are not interchangeable alternatives to one another but can be complimentary. A therapist helps a patient change the thoughts, ways of thinking, and behavior that undergirds his or her condition while medication facilitates this process by improving things like sleep, appetite, and concentration. In this way many patients feel better faster through a combination of medication and psychotherapy.

OUR MISSION

Metro Atlanta Psychiatry was founded to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to people who live in and around the Atlanta area. Finding a new psychiatrist or therapist can seem daunting, so we want you to feel trusted, respected, heard, and understood at each of your visits because that is the foundation of good psychiatric care. That is why we take a collaborative approach to treating patients. After all, your psychiatrist cannot help you if he or she does not understand your condition, and that starts with listening to you.
